US consumer borrowing up $20.5B in October

The Federal Reserve reported U.S. consumers borrowed $20.5 billion in October.

The total is the largest gain so far this year and reflects increases in credit card use, as well as auto and student loans.

During September, consumer borrowing across the country rose by $19.2 billion. October was the biggest gain since November 2016.
