U.S. charges Wal-Mart for retaliating against protesting workers

The National Labor Relations Board has filed a complaint against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. for alleged unfair labor practices, CNNMoney is reporting.
 
The complaint, filed Tuesday, claims the retailing giant illegally retaliated against workers who took part in Black Friday protests in 2012. The agency says Wal-Mart unlawfully fired, disciplined or threatened workers for participating in legal strikes and protests.
 
Wal-Mart has until Jan. 28 to respond to the complaint. Wal-Mart spokesperson Brooke Buchanan called the protests a “union-orchestrated PR move” and said that the company “look(s) forward to presenting our side.”
