The United States is pushing for the United Nations to impose stricter measures against North Korea following a nuclear test on Sunday.
"War is never something the United States wants," said Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the UN. "We don't want it now. But our country's patience is not unlimited. We will defend our allies and our territory."
Both Chinese and Russian ambassors called for peaceful resolutions during the UN meeting this morning.
