U.S. business trips on the rise

Posted online
The outlook for business travel continues to brighten, with companies sending more workers overseas, and feeling confident enough to spend on group meetings, according to a report being released today.

In the report, the Global Business Travel Association states trips made by U.S. compannies rose 3 percent in the first quarter compared to a year earlier, and the amount businesses spent on those trips increased 7.6 percent to $71.2 billion, according to USA Today.

"I think largely there's a growing or sustained confidence in making those expenditures and seeing the result coming in new business," said Mike McCormick, the GBTA's executive director and COO.
