“In the Heights,” the acclaimed adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway show, fell short of movie industry expectations in its opening weekend.
The Warner Bros. musical earned $11.4 million from 3,456 U.S. theaters in its first four days of release, Variety reports. “In the Heights” also debuted on streaming service HBO Max, owned by the studio’s parent company, WarnerMedia.
Paramount’s “A Quiet Place Part II” returned to the top of the box office in its third weekend with $11.65 million from 3,800 screens.
