The United States is banning imports of cotton and tomato products from China’s western Xinjiang region.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials cited allegations that the products are made with forced labor from detained Uighur Muslims.
“DHS will not tolerate forced labor of any kind," said Kenneth Cuccinelli, the agency's acting deputy secretary.
