U.S. Bank declares quarterly dividend

Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp, the holding company for U.S. Bank, declared a quarterly dividend Tuesday of 5 cents per common share.

The holding company's board of directors also declared regular quarterly dividends to holders of the company's Series B and Series D Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock. Series B shareholders will receive $223.61 per share, while Series D shareholders will receive $503.13 per share.

The dividends are payable Oct. 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business Sept. 30.

U.S. Bank is the sixth-largest commercial bank in the United States, operating 2,850 bank branches in 24 states, including 17 in southwest Missouri. Shares of the company's stock (NYSE: USB) closed Sept. 14 at $21.98, compared to a 52-week range of $8.06-$42.23.
