The U.S. Department of Transportation is issuing nearly $1.7 billion for 46 states and territories to buy buses.
The buses must be zero- and low-emission vehicles.
The grant funding will allow transit agencies and state and local governments to buy U.S.-built buses, The Associated Press reports.
