U.S. Automotive Inc. is expanding in Springfield.
The automotive repair business broke ground Dec. 4 on a roughly $1.5 million expansion to its 2445 W. Sunshine St. shop, according to a news release.
The construction work would add a 10-bay fleet facility, bringing total bays up to 26 at the shop. Still Construction is serving as general contractor for the project designed by Burk Erectors Inc., company officials say.
“As our Springfield community and businesses grow, I saw the need for a professional automotive facility. We’ll be equipped with special lifts, diesel diagnostic equipment, trained fleet technicians and more, to name a few of the features," U.S. Automotive owner Terry Hyden said in the release. "I’m excited to have a dedicated facility to help businesses with their commercial or fleet vehicles.”
The expansion, which is just to the east of the current facility, is targeted for completion in mid-summer 2026.
U.S. Automotive also operates in Ozark at 1700 W. Jackson St.
