US auto sales hit all-time high in 2015

U.S. auto sales reached an all-time high of 17.47 million in 2015, according to data released this week by industry research firm AutoData.

Last year’s sales figure narrowly beat the previous record of 17.35 million set in 2000, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

TrueCar.com reports 2015 was the sixth-consecutive year for sales growth, an industry trend not seen since the 1920s.
