UPS to hire up to 95,000 seasonal workers

UPS announced this week plans to hire 90,000 to 95,000 employees — about the same as last year — to help handle shipping and deliveries over the holiday season.

The part- and full-time jobs include package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers.

Last year's season marked a significant increase in seasonal hires after a disastrous 2013 season. That year, the company initially hired 55,000 people and was caught off guard by a last-minute online shopping rush. It left some people without their items until after Christmas.
