UPS rates to go up

United Parcel Service is raising its rates after the holiday season.

Effective Dec. 26, the daily rates for ground and air service are slated to increase by an average of 4.9 percent.

UPS plans to use the added revenue for "ongoing expansion and capabilities enhancements."
