Some of the area’s most accomplished professionals under the age of 40 were recognized Tuesday as part of Businesspersons Day at the Ball Park at Hammons Field.

Springfield Business Journal spearheaded the occasion to recognize its 2007 40 Under 40 honorees as a prelude to an awards event May 17. The honorees were showcased on the field before the Springfield Cardinals’ 12:10 p.m. game, and one honoree – Kristee Buff – was randomly selected to toss the first pitch.

Many honorees and their families and colleagues stayed for the game.

SBJ has honored 40 professionals under the age of 40 annually since 1999. This year’s class, listed in alphabetical order, is:
