The Salute to Design and Construction Awards’ 34th annual banquet celebrating notable projects, developers and leaders in construction is scheduled Nov. 13.
The banquet honors industry professionals with awards including Developer and Project Team of the Year, Craftsman and Superintendent of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award and the Vesta Award from the National Association of Women in Construction.
A selection committee made up of general contractors, subcontractors, architects and Springfield Contractors Association representatives recently narrowed down the finalists in the 2018 Design Team of the Year category. The finalists are National Place and Boomer Town Studios by Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective and Prime Plaza and Driver Training Center by GHN Architects Engineers.
SCA Executive Director Megan Short said the projects were judged based on creativity, uniqueness and functionality of design; the cooperative effort of the design and construction teams to solve challenges; the quality of the project; and the teams’ contribution to the community.
