University of Arkansas fires men's basketball coach

The University of Arkansas fired Mike Anderson, the school's men's basketball coach for eight seasons.

Anderson led the team to an 18-16 record this season and did not advance to the NCAA tournament. He had a 169-102 total record at University of Arkansas.

"After a review of the program, including an analysis of the past eight years and a look forward, I have made a decision that a change in leadership will best position our men's basketball program for future success," UA Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek said in a news release.
