UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was killed Wednesday in what law enforcement officials are calling a targeted attack by a gunman.
The 50-year-old Thompson was shot outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel.
"This does not appear to be a random act of violence," New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. "Every indication is that this was a premeditated, pre-planned, targeted attack."
The shooter remains at large.
