UnitedHealth Group's Optum unit is suing a former executive for allegedly stealing trade secrets.
David Smith, the company's former information technology executive, is accused of taking trade secrets to Amazon's new health venture with Berkshire Hathaway and J.P. Morgan Chase.
Smith's attorneys maintain that the company is trying to paint him as a "bad actor." They say when Smith accepted another offer, he was escorted from the building and "left all Optum property behind."
