UnitedHealth Group has denied a fraud investigation report by The Wall Street Journal.
Citing anonymous sources, the publication reported that the company is being investigated for possible Medicare fraud by the Department of Justice.
In a statement, UnitedHealth Group officials called The Wall Street Journal reporting "deeply irresponsible."
"We have not been notified by the Department of Justice of the supposed criminal investigation reported, without official attribution, in The Wall Street Journal today," officials with the company said.
