United Way reports campaign at 29% of goal

Posted online
United Way of the Ozarks has reached 29 percent of the fundraising goal for its 2007–08 campaign, which runs through mid-November.

Community volunteers attended the organization’s first campaign report breakfast of the year Thursday at the Salvation Army, 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway.

Campaign chair and U.S. Bank Regional President John Wilson said 29 percent is slightly more than the expected 25 percent at this stage, and he said the campaign is on track to meet its goal of $3.67 million. Volunteers began raising funds in July.

Campaign updates will be given at two other breakfast events at 7:30 a.m. Oct 4 and Oct. 18 at the Salvation Army.

United Way distributes the funding to both member and nonmember agencies.
