The kick-off will be at 5:30 p.m. at Hammons Field, followed by a Springfield Cardinals game. About 350 participants are expected; the organization will acknowledge pacesetter companies and debut its new public service announcement, according to a news release.
The 2008 campaign will be Aug. 28–Nov. 5.
The funds are allocated for programs at health and human service agencies in southwest Missouri. The organization also provides grants to regional nonprofit organizations and sponsors community coalitions.
