Free United Airlines flights that could be picked up briefly Sept. 12 for only the cost of airport and security fees will be honored by the airline, the company
tweeted Friday.
Company officials said the issue stemmed from human error rather than a computer glitch, according to
CNNMoney.
An official from FareCompare.com said there was about a two-hour window where people could book the flights on United.com. It appears international flights might not have been an option for would-be bargain hunters, but domestics flights were reported to be widely available.
