United CEO receives heart transplant

United Continental Holdings Inc. CEO Oscar Munoz underwent a heart-transplant operation early Wednesday and is in recovery.

The 57-year-old had a heart attack in October and went on medical leave.

Previously, the company expected Munoz back in the first quarter. However, that date may now slip to the second quarter.

Brett Hart, formerly United’s general counsel, is serving as acting CEO of the airline holding company.
