United Airlines is now requiring flight attendants to submit a doctor's note if they take sick leave on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
An email sent to staff and obtained by Quartz accuses flight attendants of “misusing” their sick leave.
The Association of Flight Attendants called the policy change a "willful contract violation" and a "demonstration of management’s lack of respect for flight attendants and our contract."
