United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz plans to turn over the day-to-day management of the company in spring 2020.
In May, Munoz is scheduled to become executive chairman of the board. He'll be succeeded as CEO by President Scott Kirby.
The move ends speculation that Kirby would succeed Doug Parker as CEO of American Airlines.
