UNA continues demo work of North Main house

Posted online
Urban Neighborhoods Alliance along with community and neighborhood volunteers will spend Saturday working on the rehabilitation of a house in the Grant Beach neighborhood.

The workday will begin at 8 a.m. at 801 N. Main. Participants will continue the interior demolition work already started by volunteers from the Community Alternative Sentencing Program. Work is progressing on preparing the house for new electrical, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning systems.

This is the second property UNA has taken on in the Grant Beach neighborhood. The first project, in partnership with Great Southern’s Community Development Corp., was completed at 1510 N. Grant and is now on the market.

UNA is a nonprofit organization that focuses on the five neighborhoods that surround downtown Springfield: Grant Beach, Midtown, Sherman Avenue PAC, West Central and Woodland Heights.[[In-content Ad]]
