After the luncheon, Danforth will participate in a book-signing 1:15–1:30 p.m. for his 2006 book, “Faith and Politics: How the Moral Values Debate Divides America and How to Move Forward Together.”
While the Rotary event is closed to the public, Danforth will participate in a public discussion later today at Drury University’s Stone Chapel, at the corner of Central Street and Benton Avenue. The 3 p.m. visit is part of the W. Curtis Strube Ethics in Business and Lyceum Series. Tickets are free but must be obtained in advance; call the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association at (417) 831-2783 to attend.
Danforth retired from the Senate in 1995 and has since become an author, a partner in an international law firm and a UN ambassador, according to a Drury news release.

Under construction beside the existing Republic branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District – which remains in operation throughout the project – is a new building that will double the size of the original, according to library officials.
