Kansas City-based UMB Bank filed a lawsuit to recover funds from two bad loans.
The suit against Toby Torstenson, of Waukee, Iowa, and companies he owns seeks $1.7 million.
UMB issued $2.3 million in loans for the purchase of aircraft. Officials with UMB say the companies and Torstenson are in default and have refused to pay the amounts due, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
