Kansas City-based UMB Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: UMBF) reported a nearly 75% increase in fourth-quarter profits.
The company, which operates two UMB Bank branches in Springfield, recorded net income available to common shareholders of $209.5 million, up from $120 million a year earlier, according to a news release. Diluted share earnings rose 30 cents year over year to $2.74 per share.
For the full year, net income available to common shareholders grew by 55.2% to $684.6 million, or $9.29 per share, from $441.2 million, or $8.99 per share, in 2024.
"2025 marked a significant chapter in UMB’s 113-year history, with the successful completion of the acquisition of Heartland Financial and another year of record earnings," UMB Chair and CEO Mariner Kemper said in the release. "We posted significant improvements in our profitability metrics as we continue to build scale, deliver profitable growth on both sides of the balance sheet and maintain our unwavering focus on strong asset quality metrics."
As of Dec. 31, UMB's assets were $73.1 billion and deposits were $60.7 billion.
UMBF shares were trading at $126.24 as of 10:36 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $82 to $129.98 per share.
