UK withholds approval for Murdoch's $15B Sky deal

The United Kingdom ruled 21st Century Fox cannot buy pay-TV group Sky without further review.

Karen Bradley, the country's culture secretary, said Thursday the transaction could give the family of Rupert Murdoch too much influence over British media.

"The proposed transaction would give the Murdoch Family Trust material influence over news providers with a significant presence across all key platforms," she said.
