UK government wants access to WhatsApp messages

The U.K. government is pushing for backdoor access to encrypted messages via Facebook's WhatsApp platform.

The killer in last week's London attack reportedly used WhatsApp just minutes before the incident.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd said WhatsApp cannot be "a secret place for terrorists to communicate with each other."

Facebook officials did not respond to a request for a comment.
