Uber’s head of communications is leaving

Uber's high-profile head of communications and policy is exiting the company after two years.

Uber CEO Travis Kalanick wrote in an internal email Rachel Whetstone "has blown us all away with her ability to get stuff done."

Sources familiar with the matter said the departure is related to Uber's recent scandals.

Whetstone’s top deputy, Jill Hazelbaker, will take over her position.
