Global ride-sharing firm Uber on Sept. 1 will start paying for insurance for its 450,000 driver-partners in India.
The insurance by ICICI Lombard General Insurance provide coverage ranging from 500,000 rupees ($7,814) in case of death to 50,000 rupees ($781) for outpatient treatment, due to accidents.
India is said to be one of Uber's biggest and most competitive markets.
