Bloomberg reports Uber paid $100,000 to hackers last year to delete personal data stolen from its app.
Uber this week ousted its chief security officer and one of his deputies for their roles in concealing the breach of data of 57 million customers and drivers.
Uber officials said no Social Security numbers, credit card information or trip location details were stolen.
