Ride-hailing company Uber Technologies Inc. announced it would grant U.K. drivers vacation pay and pension contributions.
The change in employment status came after Uber lost its final appeal last month to keep drivers in an employment status that falls between employee and self-employed.
The United Kingdom becomes the first place where Uber is paying for drivers' vacations and pensions.
