Travis Kalanick yesterday stepped down as CEO of the ride-hailing company he helped found.
Kalanick’s exit from Uber followed pressure from investors, people familiar with the matter told The New York Times.
Kalanick, 40, will remain on Uber's board.
“I love Uber more than anything in the world and at this difficult moment in my personal life I have accepted the investors request to step aside so that Uber can go back to building rather than be distracted with another fight,” he said in a statement.
