Tyson Foods' profits jump as feed costs fall

Tyson Foods, the biggest U.S. meat processor, reported a 39 percent increase in net income due to lower feed and livestock costs.

Profits were $432 million, or $1.10 per share, in the second quarter ended April 2, compared to $310 million, or 75 cents per share, a year earlier.

Sales, however, dipped 8 percent to $9.2 billion.
