Two Springfield companies rank among America’s Best Workplaces

Two Springfield-based companies have ranked on a list of the top employers nationwide.

Keep Supply and Ollis/Akers/Arney are among America’s Best Workplaces, according to the list published by Best Companies Group. The rankings were determined based on an application process and a 75-question survey completed anonymously by employees. 

Both Springfield companies were on the medium employer list, with Keep Supply coming in at No. 4 and Ollis/Akers/Arney at No. 5. America’s Best Workplaces additionally comprises the categories of small employers, large employers and enterprise employers.

For Keep Supply, the honor comes the same year the industrial parts and equipment distributor relocated to 117 Park Central Square from 601 N. National Ave., Ste. 102, according to past reporting. With the move, the company expects to expand its workforce by roughly 100 positions over the next several years. 

Lindsay Bauer, Keep Supply's director of people and culture, provided a statement on behalf of the company.

“This achievement is a true reflection of the people who make up our organization,” the statement reads. “As we continue to grow, we remain deeply committed to protecting and nurturing the culture that brought us here. With intentional leadership, authentic connection and a shared dedication to doing what’s right, we will continue building a place where people feel valued, supported and inspired to do their best work."

In a news release, insurance brokerage Ollis/Akers/Arney cited its 100% employee-owned culture for making the list.

“Being employee-owned, each member of our team is invested in having the best work environment possible,” said Richard Ollis, the company's CEO, in the release. “Beyond the basics of competitive compensation, (paid time off) policies and benefits packages, culture always starts with your people. We appreciate this award especially because it is heavily determined by our employee-owner feedback."

On the America’s Best Workplaces list, Virginia-based AAC Inc. is No. 1 in the medium employer category. Florida-based TRM CPA tops the small employer category, with Pennsylvania-based WebFX ranking as No. 1 on the large employer list and Virginia-based Kearney & Co. placing first among enterprise employers.
