Two Springfield chamber leaders to retire

Posted online

Two people in leadership roles at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce are retiring from the organization.

Sandy Howard, senior vice president of public affairs, and Jennifer McClure, vice president of strategic communications, both have set retirement dates for next month, according to a news release.

“We are so grateful to these team leaders for their years of dedicated service to the organization, our members and the broader community,” chamber President Matt Morrow said in the release. “With transition planning in place, and with the support of our volunteer leaders, we’ll continue delivering on the mission in a way that fuels economic growth and increases opportunities for our business community.”

Howard has been with the chamber for 18 years. During two stints, the first in the mid-1990s, McClure has nearly eight years of experience at the chamber.

A search currently is underway to find their successors, according to the release.
