Two restaurants sign on for new airport terminal

Posted online
Springfield-Branson National Airport has revealed two of the four dining options in the new midfield terminal when it opens May 6.

McAlister's Deli and Gevalia Coffee Bar have signed on for the terminal. McAlister's will have an abbreviated version of its menu, including salads, soups and sandwiches.

The new terminal also will have a beverage bar and another branded restaurant, neither of which have been named yet. Food options will be available on both sides of the airport security area.

No full-service "sit-down" restaurants are planned for the new terminal, although the airport's existing terminal, which will close when the new facility opens, does have one.

"Our sit-down restaurant, complete with wait staff, is an anachronism for a market our size," airport spokesman Kent Boyd said on the airport's blog. "Our new food offerings will be the walk-up-to-the-counter-and-order type."[[In-content Ad]]
