Two Springfield area builders who split the cost of a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket have won $100,000.
Keith Harris, of Aurora, owner of Harris Excavating LLC, and Rickey Billingsley, of Ozark, who has done drywall work for the company for about 11 years, claimed the prize June 9, according to a news release from the Missouri Lottery.
“We went crazy,” Harris said in the release. “It’s exciting. I dropped my soda pop I bought.”
The two won the money by purchasing a
10X The Money ticket, a $5 game that began April 30.
Harris and Billingsley won the top prize in the game, which according to the Missouri Lottery, gives people a one in four chance of winning, including $5 prizes. The two were the winners of the third of nine top prizes available.
Though neither man has definitive plans for the winnings, Harris said the money would make an already planned anniversary trip to Hawaii with his wife, Ella, that much easier.
“We were planning that anyway, but this is going to make it real nice to go,” he said in the release.[[In-content Ad]]
