Two of KC’s fastest-growing banks to combine

Fast-growing Kansas City companies Academy Bank and KCB Bank are combining.

Academy Bank this month agreed to acquire KCB Bank. Through the deal, Academy Bank would add KCB's $210.3 million in deposits to its $1.3 billion.

According to the Kansas City Business Journal, Academy Bank ranked No. 3 on its list of the strongest large banks in the metro area last year. KCB is the 19th-largest bank in the area.
