Domino’s Pizza and Chevy Dealers of the Ozarks have made gifts to the new arena, bringing the amount raised to about $7.2 million so far for arena construction and enhancements, according to an MSU news release.
The West Concourse will be named for Domino’s in recognition of its gift. The concourse – the last to pick up a sponsor – is where 1,300 students will be seated.
Sponsors of the other three concourses are Price Cutter, St. John’s Health System and BancorpSouth.
A ticket window at the Grand Entrance will be named the Chevy Dealers of the Ozarks Pick-Up Ticket Window in recognition of the dealership’s gift.
The latest donors were announced during the arena’s topping-out ceremony at Hammons Student Center, next to the arena site. Donors, alumni and others signed the last major support beam of the arena’s roof before it is raised and put in place once weather clears.
Also today, letters identifying the priority points for basketball fans and ticket holders are being mailed.
Priority points are based on the number of years a person has had season tickets, gifts made to the school and its athletics program, and whether a person is an alumnus. Point totals determine the order in which season ticket holders select seats.
School officials will be scheduling 15-minute meetings with each season ticket holder to select a seat. MSU anticipates holding about 3,000 meetings, which start May 28 for the women’s team and July 8 for the men’s team, according to the release.
Season tickets can still be purchased.
The 11,000-seat arena will be completed in time for the 2008-09 basketball season.[[In-content Ad]]
