Two Missouri Department of Transportation workers were struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning in the St. Louis area.
Kaitlyn Anderson, 25, and James Brooks, 58, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third worker, Michael Brown, 35, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the black Chevrolet Cavalier also was taken to a hospital for treatment. The incident, which is under investigation, occurred when the vehicle crossed into the construction zone and hit the workers and a MoDOT truck. The workers were repainting stripes on a ramp to Interstate 255.
