Springfield’s Young and Co. plans to merge into Nixa-based DL Media Inc. at the start of the year.
Tom Young, owner and president of Young and Co., said no money is changing hands in the deal that’s scheduled to take effect Jan. 1. The combined company will work under the DL Media name. DL Media has collaborated with Young and Co. to provide media buying services for Young’s clients for nearly two decades.
In the transition, Young and Pam Senter, his company’s graphic designer and illustrator, will relocate to DL Media’s office at 720 W. Center Circle in Nixa. Young said the combined company will have 15 employees, and his 10 clients are coming along in the merger.
It also gives Young the opportunity to lease the 3,000-square-foot office he owns in Ingram Woods Office Park at 1615 S. Ingram Mill Road, Ste. C.
“That was a big factor,” he said of the office Young and Co. has occupied since 1998.
Founded in 1997, DL Media ranked fourth on Springfield Business Journal’s 2016 list of the area’s largest advertising agencies.
“They are very strong in the digital and new media areas, and that’s going to be a real plus for us,” Young said. “That’s an area that we do offer, but they do a much better job.”
