Lincoln, Neb.-based Roberts Dairy will soon begin marketing its products under the label of parent company Hiland Dairy.
Slated to begin in May, the label change on Roberts Dairy products – distributed in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and parts of Colorado, Illinois and South Dakota – will solidify the synergy between the dairy producers, according to a news release.
Retail demand to have one label and one UPC across multiple states and markets came into consideration with the decision to consolidate brands, officials said.
Roberts is the second dairy distributor to make the packaging switch in recent months. In January, Little Rock, Ark.-based Coleman Dairy changed its label. The Arkansas distributor has been a division of Hiland Dairy since 2006.
“The only thing changing is the label on the outside of the milk and dairy product containers. The familiar milk splash image will remain the same,” said Gary Aggus, president and general manager of Springfield-based Hiland Dairy, in the release.
Roberts Dairy has operated as a division of Hiland since 1981. The company employs more than 700 workers at its two production plants and 10 distribution centers in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.
“This will be a great match of farmer-owned dairies,” Aggus said. “Blending the Hiland and Roberts Dairy brands is a natural progression that ensures we’ll continue to deliver the same fresh, high-quality milk and tasty dairy foods that consumers have enjoyed for generations.”
Hiland Dairy is an 11-plant operation with locations in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma, serving customers across nine states. Products include milk, ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, dips, half and half, whipping cream, orange juice, butter and cheese.[[In-content Ad]]
