Twitter's Jack Dorsey joins Disney board of directors

St. Louis native Jack Dorsey, chairman and co-founder of Twitter and CEO of Square, has been elected to The Walt Disney Co. Board of Directors.

Dorsey will serve as an independent director, subject to board approval in March, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

Dorsey joins like-minded industry peers in helping to govern Disney. The 10-person board of directors also includes Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and BlackBerry CEO John Chen.
