Twitter announced yesterday it no longer will take political advertisements.
The ban goes into effect in November.
"While internet advertising is incredibly powerful and very effective for commercial advertisers, that power brings significant risks to politics, where it can be used to influence votes to affect the lives of millions," Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said.
On Wednesday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said there are no planned changes to the company's political ads policy.
