Twitter hires YouTube executive in video push

TwitPic has long been used on the popular microblogging site Twitter (NYSE: TWTR), but now the company is making a push toward video.

Twitter hired YouTube executive Baljeet Singh as product director and head of TV and video, reporting to Kevin Weil, vice president of product for revenue, according to the Wall Street Journal. The company hopes to pair the videos with more advertising.
