Twitter admits to using user data without permission

Twitter this week admitted to using user data for personalized advertisements without their permission.

Company officials cited technical issues that reportedly were fixed on Monday.

"You trust us to follow your choices and we failed here," Twitter officials said, pledging not to repeat the "mistake."
