Twinkies maker Hostess set to go public

Snack maker Hostess Brands is set to go public later this year after its private investors rehabbed the company following a crushing bankruptcy in 2012 that nearly wiped out the company's assets.

Private equity firm Apollo Global Management and billionaire investor C. Dean Metropoulos and his family announced today they reached a deal to put the Twinkies maker on the public market with an enterprise value of $2.3 billion.

The company secured $375 million from private equity firm Gores Group and $350 million from others, including Gores CEO Alec Gores.
